John Danvers combines a career as an artist and writer, with his role as an academic and researcher. He has received British Council awards to travel and exhibit in Canada and Australia, and has exhibited widely in Europe, the UK and elsewhere - most recently at the Rebecca Hossack Gallery, London and the Danna Center Gallery, Loyola University, N.Orleans, USA. Research interests include the philosophy of art practice (particularly Buddhist, pragmatist and phenomenological ideas), the relationship between modern and postmodern poetics and the visual arts, and the pedagogical implications of these ideas and topics. Presentations made at conferences in the UK, Holland, Israel and the School of Visual Arts, N.York.
